Insight on Shoot on Sight

We are here to discuss the movie review of "Shoot in Sight"This film has been inspired by the suicide bombings in London of July 7, 2005, in which four British Muslims killed themselves and 52 other innocent people in London. Those injured totalled to about 700. The film unfolds the turmoil in the life of Tariq Ali (Naseeruddin Shah), a Muslim police officer at Scotland Yard. Commander Ali, born in Lahore, and married to an English woman, is tasked to investigate the police shooting of a suspected Muslim terrorist in the London Underground. Distrusted by both his superiors and his fellow Muslims, he finds his inquiry hampered from all sides. When evidence surfaces pointing to the slain man’s innocence, as well as the existence of a terrorist cell operating in his own backyard, Tariq must face the realisation that sometimes, the right decision is the hardest one to make.

I am writing this review to inform all of certain issues that attain to the casting decisions in of “Shoot on Sight”. Though the character in question, Avtar Singh Kaul has only a limited role, it may still have a significant recourse on the success of the production. The actor in question above plays an innocent man, shot on a subway platform, though in his real life, he is all but innocent. The above named person, Avtar Singh Kaul, has had a long history of run-ins with the law, as well as a criminal record ranging from rape of a minor to other charges of aggravated assault. It seems the production company did not do an extensive or any background check prior to giving a person such a role, which is a critical role in the movie. Shoot on Sight, starts off, with the above named actor, setting up the movie, as he is shot, and at the end proclaimed to be innocent. So his criminal background will come out, after the release of the movie, and it will be made sure the news spreads, which may cause negative effects on the success of the movie. The reason I am advising all of this, is because I do not want to see a negative impact on other films, due to the actions, and past criminal history, as well as future pending criminal indictments of the actor named above. I was shocked when the production company put so much faith in this above named Actor, Avtar Kaul, to put him as the lead actor, photograph on the movie poster, which will for sure have grave impact on the success of the movie, once it is released of the true character and moral standings in society the above named actor possesses. He plays a role, of something he is morally the opposite of, and in fact is a criminal. Also pending charges, may impact the movie. There is a guarantee, that this information will be spread in the film industry in the United Kingdom, India, United States, and the Bollywood arena, as well as all the film festivals, with protestors, from rape coalitions, and groups denouncing immoral actors, playing roles, that might corrupt the youth. I know of directors, the above named actor was to be given roles to play, but after finding out the criminal past of Avtar Kaul, he was declined the roles, due to bad publicity that may arise from his appearance in a movie production. The criminal act of a rape of a minor is a serious charge that is also not taken well in any country, especially India.
Also to place him as the lead picture on a poster, will for sure have a negative effect on your movie, once this information on the above actor is released to the news media, and film critics.
